Today I Mostly Harvested......

    • Yesterday, I harvested all the celeriac (10) and beetroot (17).

      The celeriac weren't very big and the roots had branched out. I think I planted them in the wrong place...with too much manure and they could go out earlier for a longer growing season. But I think I'll definitely have another go at growing it, because I really like it and it's good for stews and soups. I put some in a stew yesterday and froze the rest.

      The beetroots came out really well, some big roots. I'm going to pickle them today. 😄

      • This morning I lifted some of my first ever parsnips. These are 'Gladiator'. I hope they're nice because they're big and there are loads still in the ground!



        Update: They were rather yummy in the end :-) ...

                • Harvested the last of my tomatoes on Saturday and a load of chillis yesterday...
                  Mini Chocolate sweet peppers too...
                  Also carrots, turnips, cabbage and potatoes...
                  I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....

                              • Alberto's Locoto chillis from Real Seeds. They didn't get a chance to ripen to red, but I've tried one and it's hot enough for me.
