Yesterday: Parnsips which were lovely roasted this afternoon.
Today: I pulled up some Royal Red Chantenay Carrots (will be blizted into the base of Red Lentil Bolognese in the slow cooker tomorrow). While wearing your night clothes, plant cucumbers on the 1st May before the sun comes up, and they will not be attacked by bugs.

Chantenay Carrots, 3 types of Kale, Purple sprouting and Parsnips. Big roast dinner rounded off with a Blackberry Crumble (from Frozen fruit picked in the garden). Mrs DDAHSW was happy to put her feet up as I cooked. I am still full now, though I earned it - did quite a bit in the garden today inspite of the monotonous drizzle. While wearing your night clothes, plant cucumbers on the 1st May before the sun comes up, and they will not be attacked by bugs.

It was our first 2014 harvest this weekend too - resulting in rhubarb crumble and custard last night... sublime! Four years in, this has been my first year of providing us with fruit n veg all year round - lunch saw the last of the jerusalem artichoke and horseradish soup being finished off.

Some curly kale, carrots and yummy purple sprouting from my dad's veg patch plus some old cabbage leaves and carrot tops for the bunnies.
Reading other peoples comments has reminded me it's time for rhubarb and that is one thing my new garden has!! Just got to disguise it into something my husband will eat....
