            • It's really just herbs for me atm as I haven't yet set myself to grow things over the winter to pull in the spring.

I've just been and got large handfuls of mint for the new potatoes, parsley for the cabbage and lemon balm for lemon balm butter to go on the carrots. Even though it's only herbs so far this year it's lovely to be able to grab great handfuls of them without a second thought about the cost.
Is there anything that isn't made better by half an hour pottering in the veg patch?

                • Yesterday some PSB and mint for sauce.
Today a Winter Gem lettuce. Had cheese and lettuce sarnies sprinkled with mint sauce for lunch. Delicious

EDIT - to add a cabbage from my GH "perennial" cabbages. 3rd year of cropping them

                    • No Scarlet, much to DH's disgruntlement! We were meant to dig out a friend's unwanted rhubarb last autumn, but then we both put our backs out at the same time (not nearly as much fun as it sounds! ) so we couldn't do it. Can we move it any time, or is it sensitive?

How interesting RL - just looked up Sparrowgrass and see it is a dialect term first used in the 17th century.

                          • Earlier on it was lettuce and chives, then this evening I've dug up leeks and picked the last of the Kale, there was more left than i thought so some went in the freezer.

                            • Just some overwintered spring onions. I can't believe I have finally managed to grow a bunch of them to a decent size! It only took about 7 months...

                              • Some oregano to start drying chives parsley. I've only got herbs on the go this year.
