Broad beans not sure of the variety the original seeds came for two sheds about 5 years ago, so I call them red, white or green ones.

A few peas, 3 courgettes, a handful of raspberries ( 1st year), some carrots and some sugar snap peas. All the veg for dinner was home grown 😋

Returned to the plot later and picked some french beans for T.

Massive crop of cherry plums. One tree a Prunus cerasifiola, grown from seed, with red foliage and pink to red fruit, and the other a bought 'Japanese cherry plum' with green fruit which turns red and then purple. Both trees WERE loaded with fruit but despite them not being fully ripe yet, half the crop is on the ground and loads now pecked by birds. I still managed to fill a large basket with little difficulty and there are still a lot to come if the birds don't get them. Must look up some plum recipes for a weekend treat!

Lettuce, radish, mizuna, spring onion, loads more raspberries and 3 strawberries for tea tonight. The strawberries are so slow this year.

They've started! The courgette glut is upon us; five today and the promise of more (many more!) in the next few days.

Methinks a weekend spent trawling t'internet looking for novel ways of processing the little blighters is called for before we get overwhelmed.

Have you tried 'chocolate courgette cake'? Made that last summer, very yummy.

Also, chutney, curries, ratatouille etc.

I harvested some salad leaves today, been growing them on my shed roof, they are unwins cut and come again.
