      • Harvested some more Broad Beans, almost 8kg so far, a Lettuce and a few Spring Onions for dinner . . . but what was really exciting was my first Beetroot, just bigger than a golf ball, boiled for 40 mins, cooled it in some iced water, peeled it and sliced it thickly . . . it was superb

            • We picked potatoes, carrots and peas. Along with a few other bits and pieces a nice shepherds pie was made for 5 of us.

                    • Over the past couple of weeks we have had strawberries, a few raspberries, peas, beans, onions, garlic potatoes cauliflowers and tomatoes.

                      • Bowls full of cherry tomatoes. Turns out six plants is way too many! Luckily we both love them, and whatever we don't manage to eat gets given to the neighbours.

                        • Yesterday I harvested 9 courgettes, 3 marrows, a nice bunch of multi coloured carrots, some sprouting broccoli and some spinach.

Sunday was 8 courgettes, 2 cucumbers, kale, spinach and Swiss chard.

Saturday was 3 marrows, 3 cucumbers, a nice large punnet of black currants and white currants and an enormous quantity of broad beans. Oh and I took out the little bit of garlic that survived the flooding...I think it's music. Not a great crop, as it was flooded and then got rust. But it tastes great. It won't last long, that's for sure.

The harvest is in full swing. I truly love this time of the year. And I'm even more chuffed, as the black currant and white currant bushes that were inherited last year, were moved and then got flooded under 2-3ft of water both gave lovely crops this year! So Saturday was my very first crop of them! I took them to a my family's Sunday dinner to be eaten in an Eaton mess.

                              • Bill, on the VSP I noticed Martin has donated a whole range of sweet pea seeds - I think the firecrest variety are the red ones

A big harvest for me today - bag of broad beans, bucket of Lady Christl potatoes, onions, calabrese, peas, flowers, and a rather scary amount of blackcurrants (over 9 lbs)
