Seeds. Cut back by half, the russian red kale, totally the turnips, and something else....brocc most likely. Will dry them and save the seeds.
Have left half in for cover for the seedlings, and to self seed.
The chard is on the list of seed saving/self seeding and ditto the beetroot.
All the garlic that I couldn't find last year, started off early and is grown. So about 40 of them!
And the 250 bulbs that we planted this time around, half of them are nearly ready as well!
The 30+ degrees lately has really pushed them along.
Some days it's hardly worth chewing through the restraints!

Oh, forgot the biggest surprise harvest of the day - a small handfull of strawberries! Not only that, but several plants are still flowering. I thought we'd had the last of the season!
What do you get if you divide the circumference of a pumpkin by its diameter?
Pumpkin pi.
Just surprised myself witha large handful of green salad for lunch - mizuna, pak choi, baby lettuce, nasturtium flowers and leaves, flat leaf parsley and alfalfa sprouts.
Someone somewhere in one of the threads recently mentioned using nasturtium leaves, but I can't find the post now. Anyway, whoever it was, thanks - the combination of nasturtium and alfalfa is not one I've had before, but was absolutely lovely

Today I picked 2 swedes, a handful of carrots, some purple sprouting broccoli and amazingly my last 5 sweet peppers from the unheated greenhouse. (I'd forgotten about them, they've not been watered for a couple of months.
I also grabbed onions, garlic, apples and potatoes from the shed and a winter squash which has been stored in the greenhouse (that's how I found the peppers).
Not a bad haul for December. I've still got a few tomatoes left as well (lounge windowsill)
Today I harvested some of my christmas potatoes - Duke of York, a good bunch of carrots, about a dozen turnips and some brussel sprouts. Was amazed to find 4 of the strawberry plants in 1 of the polytunnels flowering.

I noticed flowers on some of my outdoor strawberries today. You'd think after the cold we had last weekend they would have got the hint that it's winter!
