Today I Mostly Harvested......

  • Broad beans from an autumn sowing, and a globe artichoke, as well as the usual salad leaves and a full size hearted romaine lettuce.
    I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!
    Now a little Shrinking Violet.

      • I did a colander full of spinach, which I stir fried up with some garlic and oyster sauce, just like mamma used to make.

        • I really thought they were finished last week, but yet another meal's worth from the PSB - astonishing stuff!!

              • Some heavenly Accent new spuds, a couple of onions for a bean and onion salad, rocket to make a rocket and feta cheese salad with and some broad beans. Bliss on a plate.
                When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. ~Author Unknown

                • pulled small bunch of raddishes and cut a bit of mizuna leaf for salad with tea tonight.
                  a good put down line to use !

                  • A decent size handful of mangetout pea pods, and i pulled loads of spinach that is now threatening to bolt in the heat and replaced it with sown spinach beet for the duration of the summer.

                      • For My First Ever Harvest
                        Today I harvested

                        Iceberg Lettuce ( Thinnings )
                        Radishes
                        Spring Onions
                        Carrots

                        And all was eaten for a nice Salad for Tea

                        • Had the first courgettes, a head of brocolli (first ever sucessful attempt), a spring cabbage, peas and some carrots!
                          Jiving on down to the beach to see the blue and the gray, seems to be all and it's rosy-it's a beautiful day!

                              • huge french breakfast radishes (most are about 2" long, few whoppers at 3"!!!)
                                Sparkler radishes
                                spinach (beginning to bolt) (18" long)
                                pak choi from stir-fry mix salad (8" long)

                                Very pleased with the start of this years harvest! (Oh, pulled up some huge spring onions few days ago too - but they stay in ground all winter long anyway.)
