      • a takeaway tub of cherry tomatoes, seven blueberries and a raspberry. Also all the cherry tomatoes (red & green) of my outdoor hanging basket toms as it was starting with blight. These are now on a tray in the kitchen in the vain hope that they will ripen.

        • We had strong winds at the weekend so I picked a few pounds of windfall apples which will go with the 6lbs of toms to make some chutney. Opened a jar of chutney from last September and by heck it's better than that stuff made by Br**stons. Also bunged a load of chopped runner beans in the freezer and thought about where to put the next apple tree later in the year.

          • RED (Hoorah!) ox-horn pepper, pointed pepper, Sungold, Cossack and Shirley toms, all used, together with home grown onion and garlic in a delcious piperade for brekky!

            • !5lb of tatties, 6lb of runners (picking every day, freezer is cho-a-bloc), spaghetti squash, 3 courgettes, about 1lb of 100s & 1000s tommies, 10 swedes (don't want to leave these any longer as they are bordering on going woody so I'm dicing and freezing them) and a nice plump cabbage. There's loads of damsons waiting to be picked but as I've already made plum jam I've run out of jars, also stewed and frozen about 10 bagsful.

                    • More green beans. I get loads every day. My bean fence has gone bananas!
My son Matt and I spent a hour or two digging up the rest of the spuds on Sunday as the foliage was completely dead as were half of the spuds. All squishy and rotten.
We managed to rescue a few pounds of them but a lot are brown inside when I peel them.
So we had some mashed for tea (as they all fall to bits when you boil them) and some green beans.
I made soup using my one and only patty pan, courgettes, shalotts and some shop bought celery and leeks. Yummy!
My patty pans seem to be rotting on the stems before they are the size of a 50p piece so I've not managed to sample one on its own yet and my tomatoes are still green.
ooh I did get a radish that I grew from the free seeds on the magazine. I've never tried purple radish before. very nice!
Its nice to be important but its more important to be nice
