  • Jerusalem (F)Artichokes too, but from a large tub now standing on a concrete path.
    Spring Onions.
A few sprigs of French Tarragon with a couple of baby greenfly attached, a snip of Chervil, and the odd weenie Wild Garlic Leaf.

Good job this isn't Masterchef: "You have one hour to make a truly inspiring dish....
Cooking just DOESN'T get TOUGHER than THIS!"?

        • With our very good friends 'The Piglets' staying with us this weekend, I harvested the best of our fresh herbs, both inside and outside here on The Funny Farm:
Parsley, Chives, Garlic Chives, Wild Garlic leaves, Chervil, French Tarragon, Sweet Basil, Thyme, Lemon Thyme, Rocket, Spring Onions.

Having asked Piglet to bring his very best Leeks from his allotment, we all gorged on a Leek, Chicken and Herb Risotto for supper last night when we finally all crashed in front of the telly before Bedfordshire.
By this morning, ten Cadbury Creme Eggs had miraculously grown in my kitchen garden, and were being harvested (by The Piglets) after a Full English in the Conservatory!
          Thanks Trousers darling....X

          • Yesterday I grabbed the last two small cauliflowers before the curds started to open and a great handful of purple sprouting brocolli from the early plants. Have given up on the savoy cabbages and dug them out as they have come to nothing and now noticed that they were trying to run to seed BUT still have the 'late' PSB to harvest yet which hopefully will come into its own in the next couple of weeks! Also pulled about 10-15 stalks of very pink, sweet rhubarb for dessert tonight!!

                • We got quite a few stalks of rhubarb the other day - it wasnt even forced this winter! Woot for rhubarb! other than that, nothing of note, apart from a miraculously clear and fresh looking greenhouse. I took my mummy and I TWO WHOLE DAYS!

So proud of my lil greenhouse now.

                  • There's a little place underneath a beautiful tree in my new garden.
Last year, a load of wild garlic came up underneath it, and I wasn't able to make good use of it.
This year, it has my name written all over it, and I'm harvesting as much as I feasibly can.
There's a serious Wild Garlic Pesto coming into existence this week my friends.....
