I'm getting impatient!
The forecast for this area for the next 10 days is fairly good, no frost predicted anyhow.
Would I be daft to plant out my french beans, pumpkins and courgettes?

Yea it depends on the weather, you might be best hardening them off for a week first- just to be on the safe side?!

why not...just make sure you have enough fleece to hand- and check the forecast like a hawk!!!!

It's not just frosts they don't like! I put my courgette plants out to harden off on a sunny but breezey day and they have all suffered from wind blast. Some of them are recovering but I've learned my lesson. If you do go ahead and plant out, maybe consider cloching them to protect them from the wind. It'd be a shame to set them back.

Oh cripes! I still can't decide! Ground's all prepped up and ready to go and the plants are a good size......still thinking about it!!!

I planted out courgettes at the weekend. Planning on following them with runner beans and pumpkins next weekend. A bit earlier than last year but if you don't try...

I'm not, but I know others have.....mine were going to but the winds are just too cold and strong at the moment [we've even got the heating on tonight ].

June for me, I've put a few out [3 toms, some french beans] but the main 90% are being kept in the greenhouse until then.

My beans have been out a few weeks and seem to be standing up to the cold, if possibly checked a little growth wise. i only sowed my corgettes and pumpkins this weekend. Still in the airing cupboard awaiting germination. They will go out mid June.

Planted out courgettes yesterday (which I had grown from seed and hardened off over last few days). French beans won't be going outdoors yet. Don't plan to grow pumpkins so can't say about them.

French beans are in containers and have been for 2 weeks, the rest are in the g/house and doing less well.

Courgettes/squash went out this weekend under fleece or plastic bottles.

Climbing french & runners went out last week and are growing strongly.

It's sheltered here.

What's your last frost date for Wiltshire ?
If you go before then it's a gamble.
Or you could rely on fleece.
Are they hardened off. If not I wouldn't even think about it. Plants that have been grown indoors are very soft and don't take well to outdoor conditions unless introduced gradually. It's not just frost - it's the wind in their face and the rain in their hair.

My beans have been out a couple of weeks, but they were only at the first leaf stage, so they are quite low to the ground and looked ok despite the wind, but I did get caught out with the wind on my courgettes last year, so they are still inside. Down here there's little chance of frost now, but the wind can be a killer, literally.

I've had problems with the wind while hardening off, has set everything back as they all shivered and begged to be let in
