Treat as any other allium.... 6-10 seeds in a module 40-module trays, in a propagator in February, pot the clump into 3" pots when the roots get to the bottom of the module, harden off through March, plant out early April.... use 3-4 seeds for onions, 4-6 for shallot seeds, 6-10 for spring onions, single seeds for Kelsaes or other big monsters....
January for the maincrops, february for the smaller stuff, then the greenhouse tenders get the propagators through march, outdoor queer gear of any description in april and May is for the sweetcorn, squash and beans.....
Where did you get welsh onion seed from?..... I have WO's but I had to buy them as a clump and I've never seen the damn things throw a fertile flower that set.......
I have seeds i got them from my local shop (in german) thought it was spring onion but was a little confused when i translated the packet with my very little german when it said they take two years to harvest. So i looked up the latin name online and found them to be welsh onion.
Chriscross - if you want some i can send you half of the packet (75 seeds)
