Hi Bramble, my fleeces are over the hoops on raised beds, so the support stops them from flopping and most of the rain permeates the fleece anyway. I wouldn't have thought the fleece would become heavy enough to flatten the plants? It's still hurtling down here in Sheffield, which given that it was this time of year 2 years ago when we were flooded, people are not very pleased with me that I am happy that it's raining for my veg!

Thank goodness I've had some rain, it's been like a desert here for weeks.
      That is all.

Please ignore everything I say, I make it up as I go along, not only do I generally not believe what I write, I never remember it either.

The weather on Wednesday was really windy so covered peas up didn't want the stems getting broken. Its been raining on and off since. Took fleece off this morning and they are all ok. I use pegs to attach the fleece to the wigwams and frames it worked really well and held the fleece in place. Its been lashing down on and off and more is forecast over the weekend. G/H jobs this weekend

I mentioned to my Dad (he works abroad) that there had been tropical weather a couple of weeks ago. Well, as soon as I put the phone down it started raining and it has continued every day with occasional arctic winds.

I was planting in the garden tonight when it started again and I saw a lightning strike not very far from me, then sirens went off, I hope it didn't strike anything important
