  • sweetcorn thinning?

    Hi,

Around 10 days ago I planted my sweetcorn seeds in little module trays. I planted 2 seeds to a tray hoping for 1 seed in each to grow. Of course none have grown in some modules and 2 have grown in others. Is it ok to divide these 2 seedlings out of 1 small module when planting, or should I murder (clearly i'm too attached to them) one seedling and allow only the stronger seedling to go on and be planted?

I would transplant the 'doublers' into the blank modules!

With sweetcorn I only plant one seed to a module then any that don't germinate I push in another seed which germinates quickly at this time of year!

I'd definitely try evening them out. If you separate the double ones carefully they should be fine.

I do one to a 3" pot. I've only got one empty pot!
