any ideas if you can grow them in buckets as that is all i have left to grow them in at the minute

Anyway going to give it a go 1st year 1st time if it doesn't work will plan things better next year

Nah, deffo yukky if they are big peas

if you sowed marrowfat or mushy type big peas then yup, will be yucky unless you like them, then they will be fab

Fast boil them Shirl, add a pinch of bicarb to make them "mushy" then swirl in mint sauce and season to taste. Yorkshire delicacy (or maybe acquired taste?)!

The only dried peas I have found that don't germinate are the batchelors quick soak peas ...I think they have been part boiled and then re-dried.

The OH has just asked if i am growing peas oops forgot and as its my first year of growing anything was wondering if its too late to sow them now

Hope not: I've just, a few days ago, sown some more myself. The packet said it was still the sowing season. They're 'Onward', a maincrop variety: I'd guess it's too late for earlies.

Earlies are good to sow at the end of the season too as they mature quickly and you can get a late crop.

I have some Alderman growing from 1 batch sown in April.@nd batch sown last week.
Sowed some Meteor I got from Jackieand it's coming up nicely.

I know Alderman is climbing pea but what about Meteor?Does it need any support?

I find feltham first a good reliable early and late pea and any maincrop in between. This year it is greenshaft. Have flowers on the first batch sown back in Feb so wont be long to the first pickings.
