I've got lettuces coming 'oot me ears...and I still can't get a slug. I only once found a slug halfway up a peat pot - indoors - how did it find its way there? Beer...? Johnson's Wax?

I also prefer the humane method and use a knife to cut them in half, i just hope that it does not make two slugs!

            Not sure -

Mind, I've only been growing red lettuces - Bughatti, Red Fire - maybe slugs don't like the taste of red lettuce?

I haven't had any slugs either. Touch wood *taps head*. Only green that I have above ground level at the minute is off my spuds. The toms are in large pots and sat in between the steps on a ladder. Keeps them off the ground so all the better.

I have my theory that because there has been nothing worthwhile for them in the garden for years to eat on they have found someone else to pester instead of me
