this is what im thinking, i think i might be watering them too much but i dont know, im giving them mirical grow as it has more nitrogen than tomato feeder...........another fruit fell off and a baby one fell of this time with out it being anywhere near opening. how much water are they supposed to have.

i did read somewhere that you should water them between 3 and 5 days but when the soil is dry what are you supposed to do leave them for 2 days? im going to stop watering them every day and see if that helps im going to change my feed

Darkcrystal, could you put on a photo so maybe some knowledgeable grapes would be able to help?

I know little about pumpkins - I'm growing one plant to (hopefully) surprise my grandchildren with a home grown pumpkin. The plant is still quite small, but looking OK - as far as I can see.

I've followed your progress through this thread and I don't want you (or your pumpkins) to give up. I hope you'll get some good results from these plants and that maybe what's happening is just a stage along the way. I'm hoping as well that someone will post good advice (not just ramblings, like me).

                  Hang in there.
My hopes are not always realized but I always hope (Ovid)

Don't lose hope. Could you be overfeeding and overwatering? I haven't fed mine (no flowers as yet, but buds are forming) and I only water when the ground is dry, or when plants look limp as this was the advice from the experienced growers on here. It's my first time with pumpkins and I have lost one of the four I've planted out, so I shoved another couple of seeds in a pot yesterday. I'm not sure if it's too late, but I am discovering the courage to experiment! Good luck with it.

                      Don't give up!
I think pumkins are very similar to courgettes and you often lose a few fruits before they get going. It is still pretty early for them.
I'm sure a photo would help someone identify the problem.
As far as leaves turning yellow that can be because they weren't properly hardened when they were planted out and the weather has been fluctuating between nice and nasty recently so they may just be sulking.( some of my sqaushes certainly are!) Is the new growth coming through green?
If they are exposed to winds that might be affecting them. The courgettes and squashes I have, which are protected by the peas and broadbeans are looking much happier than the ones that aren't.
I'm sure they will be fine

                              Darkcrystal,
I'm not a pumkin expert but from my experience of squashes and courgettes these look fine to me. Sometimes the courgettes have a few false starts where the fruit rots or falls off before they really get going.
I think these guys may have the same problem and will probably get into their stride pretty soon.
Maybe a more experienced grape will know more.
