  • Cucumber marketmore

I might be too early in asking this, as they might recover, but here goes!

I sowed some Marketmore in April which germinated nicely and grew to 4 leaf stage. I started (with hindsight, far too early) to harden them off but they didn't like it and all but one died.

I them sowed some more which up to now have been indoors. I thought they had stopped growing so might need re-potting into bigger pots. I did this tonight (from 3" to 5") - they didn't seem to have a very good root system (certainyl not as good as my courgettes), Within 30 minutes they had collapsed and gone limp - stalk and leaves.

I know they might recover over night but i think i may be cursed with cucumbers and am being told to try something else!

Any suggestions would be welcome if i need to do something to bring them back!

Sound like they most likely may have rotted in wet compost. There are other possibilities.

Maybe give up on the pots, you might sow them direct now, you might try putting a cut off water bottle or a cloche over to get them started.

        They kind of did!

The leaves are less limp but the stalks are still collapsed. I am a bit more hopeful today that they will pull through!
