I went to homebase today and saw 3ft peppers with ripe peppers on them...didn't look at the price though.

All look healthy but I can't help asking myself - is there something I don't know?

i don't understand.. why would ppl buy a plant that is almost fully grown and already has the fruit on it?

I suppose it could be to see how they manage with looking after a plant as they are a bit nervous\daunted by growing there own from seed!

Or they could just like the look of them and have more money then sense

Most of my plants are doing well... Greenhouse is a bit like day of the triphids. standing room only in there. Most of the toms are starting to flower and are all a good size around 2ft I think but varies with the varieties. Cucumbers have started flowering. broad beans are covered with flowers so shouldn't be long before I start getting little beans appearing on them. Some of the chillies/peppers are starting to flower while others seem to have stopped growing altogether which is strange.I did get going pretty early though being lucky enough to have lots of south facing windows really helps although I'm not sure what my poor husband thinks to sharing the bedroom with over a hundred seedlings.... Mind you he is very happy to have the crops to cook
I have found in previous years that things catch up really quickly at this time of year so I wouldn't worry too much if your plants are still small. It just shows you are more patient than me. I just can't resist that planting itch I get...
