Sounds like it might be a forking bush (indeterminant) variety rather than a cordon sort? What type are they Chef?
Leaf curl can be caused by a virus... But this is quite rare...
Leaf curling is common and not a problem. I find it happens most when there is high nitrogen levels... as Wellie said common around fruit set in hot weather, Just a theory... but perhaps it means it's time to start a potassium rich feeding regime?
Otherwise it could just be shading issues on plants with high leaf coverage.
