Herb garden

Thank you all for your suggestions. Will start tomorrow with planting lavender, rosemary and lemon grass. Although mixed views on soil, I will dumb down half the bed to receive the above. As I said, I will place mint in pots so does not matter too much on soil type. I will use the square foot garden method for other crops. Busy also looking through Jekka McVicars herb book and will take on some of the suggestions given. Will keep you informed as year goes along.

Grandchild will help in soil preparation, writing labels, planting and using this years lavender crop to make "herby" Xmas cards (Draw picture, glue and use seed heads), and pomanders for relations. I will use for herb tea, cake flavoring and soap.
