yes its me again about pumpkins

i wanted to show people some pictures of the biggest pumpkin plant as im not happy about it, but the pictures wont upload for some reason, and i was wondering if i could send anyone a couple of pictures to show you, if it needs taking up i will do.......so please anyone how will have a look at my photos i will be so thankful x

the leaves are going brown around the edges and one of the bigger leaves have spots on it. i will try and make the pictures smaller to get them on here.

i have put photos in the album now so if anyone can give me some advise.

A picture of the complete plant would be a help. I don't think there is any problem looking at the first picture as the plant looks healthy and yes those are flowers. Could not actually see if they were male or female. The leaves look as if they are old leaves and they are like us, when they get older they look the worse for wear but are Ok. The little brown spots could be sun scorch from water spots when the sun is shining. You could cut the leaves off but I dont as they are still serving a function.

i have put some more photos on my album too show what they look like, one of the flowers looks like it is dying it was growing really well but never opened, now it looks limp and closed. i have taken a photo of it.

Hi darkcrystal,
Just took a look at your pictures. Don't worry those plants look absolutely fine.I've been growing courgettes, squashes and pumkins for about 3 years now and the leaves always seem to do that as they get bigger. Some of my best crops have come from plants where the leaves seemed discoloured and brittle even though the plant had plenty of water. Enjoy your pumkins!

Your pumpkins look very healthy! These large leaved plants will get damage, especially at the start of the season when some nights are chilly and there's rain and wind etc. Also they have just come from a greenhouse or windowcill where they're protected. The flowers may not set if the weather is too cold, sometimes you get flowers dropping off or the first fruits rotting earlier in the year, nothing to worry about!

Pumpkins are definitely looking bigger and better than mine. All my squashes, pumpkins and courgettes are out on the lottie, and they do take a battering from the elements out there.

Yes, they look very healthy to me too. Maybe not quite up to Chelsea standards, but the odd spot on the leaves will make no difference.

This is my first year of growing and my squash, courgettes and cukes all have a few leaves looking more than a little tatty, dry, crumpled, spotty, scorched and more and I was getting worried. Feel much better now!

wow so many replys, thank you all so much for replying it has made me feel a lot better, i will be keeping you all posted on what happerning to them. i have started to put egg shells around them now as the horrid slugs have found them.
