It's about this time of year that I completely lose track of what I have sown and not sown. I use a 4 section box - and they are split into roots/fruit/flower/leaves, so I know what I want to sow and look for it in its particular section. It also means that if one gets too full, I know I've got too many and either need to get rid of some or sow them!
It was a meant to be a cutlery box but I saw it and wanted it [my OH is a neatness freak and having 3 boxes of seeds spilling out and all over the place wasn't working for him...so I had to get something neat]...so bought it for me from him for a birthday pressie.Last edited by zazen999; 27-05-2009, 06:21 PM.

Hi
I got one of those for Christmas. Previously mine were all in a shoe box. I've got quite a large amount of seeds in mine and find that because July-Sept are kept empty I can move the seed dividers along to give more space for the 'busy' months. There is also a slot that runs along the side of the monthly sections (about the length of the tin) which I use for the bulkier seeds like beans.AKA Angie

We got a pack of goodies from Kew at school to do work around Darwin. Included in the pack was a big deep tupperware box with a big silocone gel pack in the bottom, i bagged it straight away as no one else wanted it for my seeds.
Prior to that i used some old c.d cases my mum threw out they are just the right width and length and i put pieces o fcard in between the seeds for the months.
I must admit May/June is looking pretty chunky at the moment, especially as the weather is so carp and i can't plant anything up the lottie!
Save your £20 kidda and look around home i am sure you will be able to convert something you have already got in the best grow your own fashion. When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. ~Author Unknown

I didn't realise I would generate so much interest. Any way a visit to Scotdales garden centre yesterday had me looking around and low and behold the exact same seed box advertised in wiggly wigglers was for sale there at £16.80p. so I had a good look and for the money it is more a thing for the look and the one who has everything (I'm sure we all know one) than pratical. it looked nice but the cards, seed envelopes and pencil were of poor quality. I had spoken to our admin person at work and they gave me an old expanding file like the one in Two sheds picture. so I have set it up and marked the months etc and bobs you auntie.(as someone said) looks like it will work a treat and waterproof. now if only I could remember where I left it thanks to all for all the tips and suggestions.

Mine are in a tupperware container, it keeps them nice and fresh. I wouldn't spend £20 on a posh one...... but if someone decided it would make me a suitable birthday pressie I wouldn't send it back!Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

But this has just got me thinking, surely the papers, magazine's etc which currently reside in a lovely wooden wine box (held 6 bottles) brought back from France would be much happier somewhere else.........
