Another q for you lovely people, how can you tell the difference between male and female tomato flowers?

Another q.....how big do the final pots need to be?

And last one....how often do you have to spray the leaves?

As far as I know, a tomato flower contains both male and female parts, so each flower can produce a fruit.

a - you don't, there are no male/female flowers

b - usually ok in the pots that are flower bucket sized

c - you don't - toms don't like their leaves getting wet at all.

Oh that makes more sense, i read somewhere that you had to spray them so that the fruits would set. But the ones i have sprayed have pale green spots on their leafs so i think i will steer clear of spraying them in future.

Can i still pot my toms on even when they are about 3 foot tall, the pots they are in are too small?

Yes, but you need to do the larger ones carefully. Very carefully.

To pollenate the flowers, just tap the canes once or twice a day.

All your q's have been answered... .the spraying they were more than likely talking about was to spray the first truss of flowers to help them set... but saying that, even that's not really needed. If the first set of flowers do not produce toms, it's not the end of the world as the next set more than likely will . As Zazen said tap the canes

A touch with the electric tooth brush would also do the trick but leaving them alone apart from watering and taking out the side shoots works wonders in my garden.
