have I read on another thread that some people tried planting the dried marrowfats from the supermarket? I thought I'd seen that somewhere on the vine, but maybe I'm mistaken.
Has anyone tried that?My hopes are not always realized but I always hope (Ovid)

I've grown lentils, chick peas, pinto beans, red beans - large and small from a soup mix.....I can't see why any pulse wouldn't grow...whether it produces a crop is another matter but marrowfat peas seem like just the type to trial....not for me though, I've got loads of them that I am growing for the HSL trial and there's only so much mushy peas we could cope with.

I asked the question about a week ago and was told that the peas that you soak out of a box are marrow fat peas, so i got a dozen out of the box soaked them in warm water overnight without the tablet and planted them in 3in pots out of the 12 peas currently about 10 have germinated and are about 1/2in tall
So if you havn't got a box in the cupboard nip to corner shop and get soaking.
