If your spuds have flowered, or have been in for over 12 weeks, have a furtle about in the soil and see if you can find any potatoes. Harvest as many as you need at a time and leave the smaller ones to grow a bit longer.
It is best to buy new seed spuds each year but if you are growing in containers, I don't suppose keeping a few of your own will be a problem. You will need fresh compost each year though.Happy Gardening,

They'll be ready to lift when the plant has flowered and the foliage starts to die back. You'll need new 'seed' for next year ie. potatoes. I sometimes keep 'seed' from one crop and then use it the following year. If you decide to do this choose healthy potatoes about the size of those you planted this year. If not, buy more from your local GC etc next year.A good beginning is half the work.
Praise the young and they will make progress.
