Sprouting Pumpkins Now!!!!

Lol! She's been sucking at my finger every night, what else!!

All we've done is water her regularly, add some more compost to her pot (doubled the amount that was in there) and fed her a little tomato feed once, thats it! Dunno how we've done it, perhaps its all the love and expectations we've heaped upon her!

Audrey Too Piccies!

As promised a few piccies of Audrey Too!

The horses statue next to her is about 10" tall, and the pot she's in is a 6" one, so should give you an idea of her size!

Sorry that the piccy of the fruits is a bit blurred, its only a cheap digital camera, must get round to getting a better one sometime, methinks a nice Cannon Eos digital would go well with my exisating Eos 35mm camera!

Audrey II has now got a female flower, with a fruit behind it!! She's been flowering with male flowers for a few weeks, but she's now fruiting! I'm amazed shes styill alive, let alone thriving!

New camera Mrs D? Not a chance, we need a few other things first!

I'm really impressed with Audrey 2!
One little question....do pumpkins need a lot of manure/feed?- Are you going to need to put her in a bigger pot?
I've no idea about pot grown veg really- just wondering!!?
You must be doing something right if she's fruiting!!

I've not read the whole thread, just the last bit - but maybe a bigger pot would be a good idea? Plants often flower/fruit when under stress (thinking they're gonna die) so perhaps a bit more room might help?

Audrey 2 is still with us, the first fruit hasnt set, I dont think the male flower I used for polination had any pollen left, but she is producing lots of other flowers now, both male and female, so I'm hoping that we will be able to get at least some fruit from her! I'll try and take some piccies of her tomorrow and post them up, both off for the day, so should be spending most of it on the plot! I need some relaxing time, worked 24 hours in the past 2 days, plus 3 1/2 hours travelling, so a bit of time destressing on the plot is what I think I need!

Hmm, hadnt thought of that, tho she is in a 9" pot already, may try repotting her tomorrow into a 12" one and feed her up a bit!

Latest Audrey Too Piccies!

As promised, the latest piccies of our last surviving pumpkin, affectionately known as Audrey Too!

First piccy shows her in her glory, second one shows the flowers in a bit more close up and the third one shows her with the toms next to her (toms are now about 6" tall to give you some idea of scale!)
