Second early spuds flowering already?

Hi all, I'm very confused, my second early spuds have only been in the ground for 7 weeks and they already have flowers on them
I'm I right in thinking that they are a bit early to flower? I'm sure I remember reading that the spuds will be ready for harvest after flowering, but surely that isn't right as they still have another six weeks left?

Any ideas?

Do not worry everybodys spuds are flowering early this year my main crops have been flowering for 2 weeks the only one's not flowering are the king edwards not to worry i think we can blame it on global warming....jacob

Lucky you. The only thing in my garden covered in flowers is the Bloody Geranium. (That's it's name {geranium sanguinium), not my opinion......well.... )

Does that mean I'll be able to harvest them early or should I leave them for the full 13 weeks?
Also, do I pick the flowers off?
