  • My first crop pulled and eaten today !!!!!

I have today pulled my radishes up and they were fab ! We used them in our salad tonight and they were lovely. My toms are coming along lovely now but there is something wrong with my runner beans. The foliage seems to be dying off. The leaves look like they are being eaten by something, and they are curling up,going all dry and falling off ?! Help ! Any advice would be great. My lettuces on the other hand are thriving, so I'm not doing too bad for a novice.

Congratulations, hoping to have my first ever crop to eat soon, my peas that are coming along very nicely
Consider the daffodil. And while you're doing that, I'll be over
      here, looking through your stuff.

Well done. I pulled up 2 rows of radish, and only about 8 were edible, and even they all had slug nibbles in them.

and there i was thinking i was late .........
i had my first home grown lettuce (red salad bowl) a couple of weeks back - loads more to pick and use this week
picked a bag full of spinach leaves saturday, washed and chopped, will go into a beef and spinach curry tomorrow
pulled up a couple of dozen winter onions at the weekend - will be using a couple of reds in salads this week and some whites in the curry tomorrow - neighbours have had some too
carrots are looking good, nowhere near ready tho - pulled a couple up yesterday to check growth and they're still only quarter inch thick .....

My first crop the other week was Radish too.

Very pleased with myself, dont really like Radish grew them for my OH but ate a couple anyway as they were special - quite nice

I planted Lettuce as a catch crop in the greenhouse and have been eating them...as well as the Strewberrys. Mrs Nog found some Gooseberrys in the freezer from last season so we had them with crumble last night.
