Horseradish

I desperately wanted to grow horseradish, and after an unsuccessful purchase off ebay, I bought a pack from Wilkos, I went to plant in a large planter (to keep it contained) and to my disapointment I had bought a miniture(sp?) bag of compost, no root in there . Any ideas where else sells some, I cant really get to a garden centre as all miles out of town and I dont drive.

Where do you live?
Horseradish grows wild in alot of places and you can often just dig up a bit of root from the side of the road so long as it's not in a place where you're not allowed to. It looks similar to a dock leaf with slimmer longer leaves and is a bit taller.
Alternatively some of the big seed companies sell it but I am not sure that this is the right season to get it from them. Buying online from a reputable company would solve the delivery issue though. Good luck in finding it.
