Most of my swift sweetcorn appear to have been eaten by little worms/nematodes. The worms/nematodes are a few millimetres long and kind of clear. I found them when all my last lot of seedlings rotted away at the base and these little pests were in the soil around the stem and had eaten out the seed. So I got rid of that batch and all the soil etc., planted new ones in different, clean pots and different, new compost, but the same thing has happened again! My minipop sweetcorn is doing fine, it's just the Swift ones that are dying!
Does this mean there is a problem with the Swift seeds I bought, i.e. they were diseased? Or was it something else? Is it too late up here to sow again? Help!
