My peas have been hard work this year - despite the fact I picked a few pods last week, which is quite early.
They have been reluctant to germinate, despite different methods, (straight into the soil, in pots, soaked and unsoaked) and out of the few that have made it, some have withered away without flowering, some devoured by slugs, some with stunted growth and only a very few seemingly romping away. Tried two varieties, Avola (successful last year) and Alderman, a complete disaster so far.
