Plum tomatoes

Following on from my "silly me" thread..I got some "italian plum" tomatoes..fat lot of good homebase labelling is!

Now, is there a rule whereby plums are cordon/bush..or will I be able to tell as they grow?

i'm in the same position - i have mainly grown from seed but my lovely french catalogue doesnt tell you what they are and also i've bought a few plants from the local market and my french isnt good enough to enquire precisely what they are. I am working on the principle ...ones that i know are big tomatoes (pink brandywine etc) i will pinch out and tie up ....cherry types (chelsea mini, yellow pearshaped etc) i will let get bushy.....

My plum toms are ROMA and I am told they are cordon. Hope that helps.

The only problem with that Jardiniere, is that I've got Gardener's Delights which are a cherry..and a cordon tom!

Thanks Ann..I'll treat them as if they were Roma..and next year, they will be as I'll get the right seed!
