  • Tomato trouble

    Hi all,

Can't decide whether to scrap some tomatoes i've got. I potted them with 100% proper rotted compost from my local tip without realising it's meant to be diluted with loam. The lower leaves wilted badly so i removed them and now they've just started resproating. They still look very thin and weak especially if you look in the photo's how the ones i planted at the same time in a growbag are doing. they do have flowers but just want to know whether i'll get a worthwhile crop? Think i overwatered them at the start too. Got replacements but could do with the pots if the others won't recover enough. Have a look at the pics and let me know what you think,

    Thanx

I am new to growing, but to me they dont look too bad. They have flowers on and are nice and green.

if you throw them away - you'll get nothing. But if you've space, time etc to keep them you may get tomatoes

Keep removing the damaged or unhealthy leaves - they aren't doing a great deal once the trusses above them are in flower. If it doesn't feel right removing all of the leaf, just cut away the defective part. Don't forget to take out the side shoots (unless you are growing an indeterminate variety). It would be a shame to throw the plants away without giving them a chance.

          Best of luck.
