Can I grow haricot beans in this country? Oh is a bean feind and eats tehm virtually everyday so thought as I am growing everything else I wondered if I could homegrow his beans?

a haricot is just a bean surely not necesarily a dried one?
we have haricot sec,(dried) haricot rouge,(kidney) haricot vert (green beans) does Jax mean baked beans?

French beans are picked when they are young and green and you eat the whole pod.

While the French still use 'haricot' as a general name for a bean, the English use it now only for the small, white, dried bean. You won't find a variety of bean called "Haricot", although the dried seeds of Blue Lake (there are others*) are white beans, like the ones you buy in the shops.

I have just planted my haricot beans. The variety is yin yang. You can get them from Marshalls (I think) and the Eden Project. Last year we ate them like french beans and they are wonderful, and have their own special taste. When you see the dried seeds you will see how they got their name. I THINK June is the sowing month for them.

you can't grow them, because the exact variety is a secret. Honest. They are grown in the US from several different varieties available commercially, and the exact mix is unknown.

I always thought the ying yang bean was also called the pea bean. Could be wrong as I have two beans like ying and yang one is black and white the other red and white and I can never remember which is which.

You can find "Yin Yang" in both colours. Mine are maroon and white, but were sold in a packet as Yin Yang.
I also have Orca, which is the same but black and white.
