Red Lettuce Recommendations?

I'm already growing lollo rossa, but just wondered if anyone has recommendations for other red lettuces, preferably not too frilly.
I recently visited an NT property (Greys Court nr. Henley) and in their veg garden they had some beautiful deep dark red cos-looking lettuces. Unfortunately I didn't manage to find out the variety, but they're haunting me!

Oh dear I'm becoming even more obsessive.

I am currently eating the Australian looseleaf and the red iceberg is next to come good on my plot - but have a look at these.

I like the speckly one on there, that's very cute. I think I'm also going to try this one:


called 'Marshall' if I can find seeds. It's got an RHS AGM so should be easily available.

'Rosemoor' looks quite promising too.

I've never seen as many lettuce as Seeds of Italy have!

There's lots of red/red edged lettuce here

Thanks for this. I've not grown any red lettuce except Lollo Rosso for years because they all seemed tough and flavourless. Might give a few of these a try.

try flame or devils tongue romaine from the real seed company, both are very good.

I am growing red cos 'marshall'. It had a good germination rate and is out on the plot more than holding its own against the slugs. All that said, I haven't eaten any yet and the proof as they say.........

I just bought some 'Marshall' seeds at the gc, going to give them a try.

I'm interested to see how they taste, but they also look amazing.
It's quite rare to find red lettuce at the supermarket, always nice to grow something a bit different.

I think I'll wait until next year before buying a load more franchi seeds, I never get through that many seeds, except for radish.

Wow thanks to you all for the great links, lettuce are always a easy veg to grow without waiting months for the results.
If I start now I could be sowing a new type each week till....Christmas..no next year in the greenhouse.....Cheers
