  • Leeks arrived but onions not ready yet!

My leeks arrived this afternoon from Delfland - very exciting until I realised I don't have anywhere to put them!!!

The ground is currently occupied by some onions, and a few garlic bulbs. The onion leaves aren't browning and toppling over yet - which I understand means they are ready (first time growing them) - so what shall I do?

Shall I put the leeks somewhere until the onions are ready? Will they mind being transplanted?

Or shall I harvest the onions now and put the leeks in?

Arrrhhhhhhhhh!! Who said it was simple!! But I do love it

    Yes

    No

Just shove them in a bed somewhere, and transplant when you have room

Leeks don't mind being transplanted, leave the onions to do their thing!

I got fed up moving my pots of young Leeks around (lack of space), so yesterday I planted them out in the gap under the peas (two long rows tied together at the top), as I had been wondering what to put under there!
