my father in law brought me some, i think he spends more time rummaging in fields than he does at work ! but anyway i didnt use it as i didnt know what to do with it ! ? so i planted the little seeds from the pods and they are growing ?
Wild garlic is lovely - very mild garlic flavour. You can use the roots and the leaves. Just chop them up and use in any dish you want that mild garlic flavour in.
It prefers damp shady conditions and if the conditions are just right it can spread by the acre so watch it doesn't take over your garden - I would go for a sunken container.
It grows by the acre along the banks of the river Ericht - near here - and I just love it.
From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

Thanks alice, its in pots thankfully, as i thought whilst i was planting it, wild garlic, wild = full garden !
I've tried to grow wild garlic (Ramsons) from seed and never got a single one to germinate. I've tried digging up the plants and transplanting them and still no success. The leaves are great in salads but it doesn't grow round here and it seems daft to drive the car just to pick a few leaves.
Both leaves and flower heads can be used in the kitchen, it makes an excellent mild garlic soup. Make sure you crop it before it seeds or it will be coming up everywhere.
We have wild garlic growing 'wild' at the back of our garden. damp shady location at the base of several very large mature trees. It's really pretty and smells gorgeous but we weren't sure how to use it or which bits were edible. So really pleased to see all the tips on here!
Thanks everyone
