Wild garlic is lovely - very mild garlic flavour. You can use the roots and the leaves. Just chop them up and use in any dish you want that mild garlic flavour in.
It prefers damp shady conditions and if the conditions are just right it can spread by the acre so watch it doesn't take over your garden - I would go for a sunken container.
It grows by the acre along the banks of the river Ericht - near here - and I just love it.
From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

I've tried to grow wild garlic (Ramsons) from seed and never got a single one to germinate. I've tried digging up the plants and transplanting them and still no success. The leaves are great in salads but it doesn't grow round here and it seems daft to drive the car just to pick a few leaves.

We have wild garlic growing 'wild' at the back of our garden. damp shady location at the base of several very large mature trees. It's really pretty and smells gorgeous but we weren't sure how to use it or which bits were edible. So really pleased to see all the tips on here!
Thanks everyone
