haven't tried but our garden is quite waterlogged afore i plung a fork into it so they grow of their own accord.
We have some white ones that grow on none removed tree stumps ( i got 4 out and then left two - next yrs project me thinks)
Also our lawn has alot of yellow sulphur ones that you can't eat.
I got that mushroom identifying river cottage book n found it v hard to identify ones i foudn locally so think i'll keep away from that for now - mebbe when i'm more experienced!
would be good to know how you get on for future reference though
