  • Dead Cabbages

I've planted several rows of cabbage and half of one row has died, the rest are doing fine.

    What caused this ??

    dunno.
What are the symptoms and what did you do?

have they rotted, died of thirst, or been eaten?

They just went yellow and died, but it's only half a row

Cabbage root fly?...pull one of 'em up, snap the root stem and check for maggots.

Dryness/drowning at planting time or whist in the tray? Weedkiller drift or otherwise poisoned land. How long have they been set out? Have there been any cultural or timing differences to the successful ones?

Unusual you say the roots are 'fine'

Did they start to grow or did they start to die from the point of planting out. If they started to grow and then keeled over I would be inclined to think of root fly even if you didn't find any evidence. If they didn't start to grow then I would be inclined to think lack of water.
