A few showers last night - horray! at last. Not enough really to wet the ground very deep, but at least there's some water in the water butts now

Only 20mm in the whole of June so far - and more sunny days on the way. I wouldn't normally water the veg garden, but looks like I'm going to have to do something.....

An hour of fairly steady(ish) rain yesterday afternnon, a lot of mist, but my strawberry container seems to suggest we had some overnight, though none in buckets left out to check. I'm confused.

It was a proper storm here over London, with hail as big as marble!!
I was in the park at the time and we all got completely soaked up..... mind the only thing I was worried about is the state of the garden after that!!!

And I was right to worry.... I think there is nothing I can do to save my potato now ((

We had rain overnight on Friday but none other than that for ages. Watering is such a chore ! I only really get chance to water in the evenings - I know that's traditional but....when the nights are cold, as they have been, I'm concerned that the veg roots are sitting in a puddle of cold water all night and sulking. I would rather water early morning but I'd never get the kids to school and me to work ! Life just gets in the way, doesn't it ?
