Where are my Peas ?

Does anyone have any idea why my peas are not growing ?
This is my 1st year veg growing and i`m very happy with things so far ,i have Potatoes,onions,carrots,broccoli,tomatoes,strawberries, etc etc all doing very well,i planted two rows of garden peas about a month ago now in a small prepared soil bed and there is no sign of anything,i know the seeds are o.k because i gave the old man some and his are fine.
The soil was well prepared i added fertilizer and watered them in but nothing

The only thing i can think of is before the soil was prepared there were lots of weeds to remove,this is the first time anything hasn`t grown for me

I had some peas and the ones I sowed straight out did nothing too, the ones I put in peat pots to start grew pretty well and have been planted out.
Other than that I can't help as I'm a newbie too but good luck, hope they pop through

Start in loo roll innerds and plant out when about 4-6 inches tall.

That would make sense,dads were planted in compost, mine were planted about 1"-2" deep so possibly rotted now.

Pigeons? Mice? Crows? They will all have a go at peas.

The first lot of peas I sowed did nothing. Not a single one germinated, but not sure whether they rotted or were eaten by mice. Then I followed the advice of some of the other grapes and sprouted them between damp sheets of kitchen paper before I planted the next lot and all of them germinated. Hooray!

I would suspect mice if there is no obvious sign of digging up, and other ones from the same batch grew.
As Zazen says, try growing them on a bit first in loo rolls, drainpipe, biodegradable pots etc etc before planting them out.

I started my peas off in lengths of guttering with compost in and got nearly 100% germinationthis year and I will do it again next year. You let them grow to about 5/6 inches high and then slide them all off into prepared trenches in the ground.
