Hope this is the right place.. saw a gadget in the harrods hort brochure which was essentially a hanging basket with inbuilt reservoir which was designed for toms, the theory being that you plant them upside down in to the bottom of the basket and they grow down and there's less weeds better crop etc as the plant doesn't fight gravity etc.
Sounds good I thought to myself, I've got an empty hanging basket I'll give it ago - not worried about the reserviour as the hanging baskets are all on an irrigation system anyway. So 2 days into the experiment, my 12 inch tomato plant is now doing a u-turn and trying to grow the right way up.. now this is sort of what I expected to happen else seeds would get terribly confused :-) but my question is, has anyone else tried this? or maybe bought the gadget and got it to work?
cheers
