It's a good feeling isn't it! I'm growing cucumbers (Tiffany F1) for the first time this year and noticed my first ones a couple of weeks ago - very exciting to have a "new" crop! Good luck with your harvest!

I can highly reccomed "Burpless Tasty Green" - have had 4 huge ones already, another 6 maturing and countless flowers off of just 4 plants!

God made rainy days so gardeners could get the housework done

I grew my first cucs last year from G.C. bought plants. F1s and a great success they were (even if they did cause me stress as I didn't know what I was doing - as bad as bringing up a child and wondering all the time where you are going wrong!!)
Anyway, this year I grew my own. I have three different kinds in the G/H and today I have cut my first cucumber. It's called Tasty King and it was delicious.
No messing with taking off the male flowers. I have two others called Marketer (which also doesn't require removal of the male) and which have smaller cucs on and one called Telegraph Improved (NOT F1) which is a B & Q jobby. This one does require removal of male flowers. All very confusing.
I can still remember last year's excitement when I saw my very first teeny tiny cucumber. I was so enthused it's rubbed off on my 8 year old grandaughter who now helps me in the veggie patch and is growing her own spuds.
Enjoy it VeggieLover. Remember to cut it off, not pull it.

Aaah, congratulations! I can't wait for mine now, this all sounds so encouraging.
