    Hello everyone!

GYO would like to find out how many portions of fruit or veg you eat every day. One portion can be defined as 80g - or in the case of salads, a handful, and around 150ml of fruit juice.

Potatoes and similar starchy foods like yam, don't count

Around five, though I am never sure whether to count onions (like onions, tomatoes and olives with pasta - does that count as three?). Two of them are juice and a large smoothie though, so probably cheating!

I eat 3 on average, but somedays can eat 7 or 8.... it's all very subjective!

          On average 6-8 a day.
I really like to ensure my children get lots of fresh fruit and veg, plus with all this lovely fresh produce coming off the plot at the moment it's all so tempting!

6-8. Three or four fruit in my pack-up and plenty of veg for tea during the week. Even more at the weekends, especially this time of year when there's so much salad coming out of the garden.

Gosh, it can vary so much! I have a dodgy tum at the moment so my intake is low for me, around four. I don't make a conscious effort to consume a daily quota, but I do feel a difference after a day or so if my intake of green veg is low. I start climbing the walls! However, when it comes to DS I do try to encourage a minimum of three, which can be difficult because there are times when he won't eat any. Smoothies are great though because he doesn't realise he's drinking those 'yuckie' fruits he 'hates'.

Well mine was 3 yesterday, so I put that, but the day before it was much more if you include the following:

                    1 pint apple cider
                    1 pint pear cider
                    1 portion of tomato ketchup
                    Toast with rasberry jam
1 bar of Cadbury's fruit and nut
                    1 bag Haribo Fizzy Cherries

                    They all count right? ...Right?

I have to say that now the fruit and veg are coming through, we probably eat 6 or 7 portions a day- but in the spring/winter probably 3...so I've averaged it out at 4

Could probably give up meat if I had to, but couldn't give up the home grown veg!

I don't eat meat or fish - and protein makes up 1/4 of my diet with carbs another 1/4 - so probably but I've never counted - just try and make each plate look right.
