my autumn spear calabrese is nearly ready to harvest already. 2 of the 5 plants have central spears. could this be weather related. does anyone else have this problem. they are not supposed to be ready until september

Mine are the same too, if I don't cut them off and put them in the freezer they will turn into flowers very shortly. I've never grown these before, only S purple, if I cut the head off will any more come or is that it?Comment

my "Autumn Calabrese" also has central heads ready to pick now..... must be a weather thing.
I have however got 6 "reserve plants" still in pots to check their growth so am going to harvest these then put the remaining 6 in the ground in a few weeks or so.Comment
