Welcome to the vine Marion! You'll find a lovely bunch of grapes on here, lots of whom have much experience to share, unfortunately thats not me, as I too am a relative newbie! Congrats on your plot tho, if you've any piccies please post em up so we can all have a good look!
As to what you can grow in your new plot, onion sets and garlic can be planted outdoors now depending where you are located in the world, as too can aquadulce broad beans and pea 'rocket' as they are winter hardy.
Must be good to have a polytunnel, we have a largish greenhouse, but are not planting in it until the weather improves! I cant help with ideas of what to plant in there now, but I'm sure some of the other grapes who have polytunnels will soon be along with lots of advice!
Hope you have lots of fun in your new tunnel I got mine last June got lots of tomatoes peppers chillies basil but the best bit is once all the foliage has grown i can hide - "they" can't find me!!!
being really excited what seed can I start in my pollytunnel
thanks
marion
Hi Kittykat8
I've recently got a small plot (1m x 1m) in the communal polytunnel at our allotment site.
It's too late for any tender crops, but salads should be ok - I've just sown rocket, marvel of 4 seasons (red salad bowl type), komatsuna (like baby pak choy) and radish.
So far they're small but definitely growing
Depending on where you are why not try some winter salad as Fiona suggests. Difficult at this time of the year as nothing much is growing, but you will have a head start next year. I have a beautiful cos lettuce growing in my polytunnel, so hoping I might be able to get it keep going for Christmas Day and our starter!
Good luck!
