None of them knew what a cauliflower was, and one girl was adamant (she got very cross) that humans couldn't eat cabbage, only rabbits could

A small child was helping out in our garden digging the potato plants and was immensely surprised that you dug the ground and got dirty potatoes. He was very pleased to eat them later though so at least he learnt that one!

I'm stunned by the reactions of some of the schools Health and Safety really has gone mad .

The school my 5yr old goes to has turned a section of their garden into a veg patch for the kids to learn how to grow and then cook and (shock! horror!) eat the veg.

My donated surplus strawberry plants and french climbing bean plant are doing very nicely and the kids are as eager and impatient as us adult growers, for their produce to be ready for harvesting .
