We've just aquired 2 kittens in the hope that they will ward off the neighbourhood cats as we were pretty much the only ones without a cat our garden was turning into a public loo
I have found that chilli sauce painted round the edge of the raised beds deters them but it does wash off with the rain.
There have been a lot less kitty truffles since the kittens started going out a few days ago ( I was filling half a carrier bag a day from the garden before that!)so it looks like my ploy may be working

Just been out to find more little presents(see picture), they now seem to ignore the netting/mesh and just xxxx onto that, wonderful.
Still back to the hail. Just picked some courgettes see the damage they received. (Picture).
      Thanks Jimmy

It takes all sorts Jimmy. The most comical response I have seen on here to the question "how do I get rid of a cat from my garden?" was "hit it with a shovel". That wasn't deleted! I love cats, but I hate cat faeces.
