Plenty of flowers but no fruit on my toms

Im growing tumbling toms in containers on the patio, ive got plenty of flowers on the plants but no fruit or signs of any fruit developing.
The plants themselves seem healthy enough and are getting quite big I added some blood and bonemeal into the soil a few weeks back and this seemed to spur the growth on a bit although im not feeding them with any food when I water them as was told to only feed this when they start fruiting and developing fruit.
Is this normal or am I just being a little impatient its the same with my cucumbers and chilli's although I think the one of the cucumbers is starting to fruit bit havent seen any flowers I will take some photos so you can see what I mean

Ive not seen any bees in the garden how do I hand pollinate ? ive been tapping the trusses I also read somewhere that you have nip the ends of the trusses or stems ?
Ive noticed plenty of garden ants crawling all over the plants will they do any harm?

You just need a little more patience Mr Toggs. If you have flowers the fruit will come. You'll see.

I agree with Alice, flowers = fruit. So just a little more time. One thing I would say is once the fruit develops, water in a consistent pattern. I'd recommend a little every day when it hasn't rained. Toms are prone to tough skin (and then splitting) and/or blossom end rot if the waterings a bit haphazard. I know cos I was rubbish at watering last year and got both problems.

You don't need to pollinate tomatoes they do it all by themselves. Some folk do give them a tap them but no one seems to know whether it's necessary. My outdoor ones are only just setting fruit and ones in placcie greenhouse aren't much further ahead. A friend who has some in a glass greenhouse are way ahead, he's getting impatient cause he thinks they should be ripening soon. It all depends on when you start them and how much light they're getting as to how far along they are. So basically, yeah, just wait a little longer, when the flowers start dying off you should start to see some baby toms there.

I agree with shadylane - no need to pollinate. They are self fertile. Walk away and think of something else! It's like waiting for the kettle to boil!

im glad you asked this as my tumbling toms also have a lot of flowers on & no signs of any fruit... my moneymaker tomatos are also doing the same D

Yes what Flum says is right! And when they do start producing you'll have a job to keep up with them!

very true flowers means fruits. My tumbling toms seemed to flower for ages before setting fruit and now the first ones have just started to ripen.

only about threequarters of my plants have any flowers yet.one plant i spotted yesterday has just set 2 fruits, so im getting excited and got the tomato feed ready to go. also my plants are at various stages of growth, just starting to huge!

Phew! Thought something was wrong with my Tumbling Tom Red tomatoes this year! Loads and loads of flowers but not a sign of any swelling fruit as yet. Grew the same tom variety last year and I'm sure they had set fruit by now.
At least there are other people having the same problem (lack of patience!).
